Our Story

We create products people love out of passion and inspiration with integrity and quality, so they can enjoy them as much as we enjoy making them.

It all started with a breadstick

Jennifer made breadsticks for dinner parties and friends fell in love. After years of people telling her to sell her breadsticks, a marketing background and a divorce, Jennifer had an epiphany, create a business doing what she loved.

That was the beginning

In 2005, Jennifer was a single mother often cooking with her young daughter Stephanie.  She started Jennifer’s Homemade out of her passion for baking and the inspiration to create delicious products with integrity and quality.

Meet Jennifer

Jennifer Behar started her career in advertising and marketing.  After college at Boston University, she moved to New York City and worked as an advertising account executive on the Johnson & Johnson baby shampoo account and helped to launch Acuvue disposable contact lenses in 26 countries.

In 2005, Jennifer was a single mother often cooking with her young daughter Stephanie and she started Jennifer's Homemade out of her home kitchen.

Jennifer’s Homemade was born out of her passion for baking and the inspiration to create delicious products with integrity and quality.  Her breadsticks and flatbread are made from scratch with only the finest natural ingredients.  She uses extra virgin olive oil, kosher salt and fresh rosemary in her recipes.  Everything is always vegan, non-GMO and all natural.

In 2007, Jennifer joined the board of directors for Feeding South Florida, a member of Feeding America, and she served on the board for 6 years and was Vice President of the board for 2 of those years.

Jennifer’s Homemade has been featured in Food & Wine and Gourmet Magazines, The New York Times, The Miami Herald, The Big Idea with Donny Deutsch, The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer on CNN, National Public Radio, an American Express OPEN small business print advertising campaign and Jennifer baked with Martha Stewart on MARTHA, The Martha Stewart Show.

Our Unique Process

Italian Biga

Our dough is made from scratch using an Italian biga and only a few natural ingredients. A biga is a pre-fermentation which gives our products delicious flavor, added texture, and makes them less perishable and easier to digest.
We made our original biga from scratch in 2019.

Added Flavor and Texture

Using a biga adds complexity to the flavor and texture of our breadsticks and flatbread

Less Perishable

A biga also helps to naturally preserve our products by making them less perishable

Easy to Digest

One of the biggest benefits of a Biga is that our Breadsticks and Flatbread are easier to digest. Many of our customers with gluten sensitivities tell us they can easily (and happily) eat our products
(everything is made with unbleached/unbromated wheat flour)

We use extra virgin olive oil, kosher salt and fresh rosemary in our recipes

Vegan, all-natural, made with extra virgin olive oil
